AlphaPlugins Laplacian Blend plug-in for Adobe Photoshop
AlphaPlugins Laplacian Blend - the simple free plug-in for Adobe Photoshop that lets mix two pictures with a sophisticated algorithm and obtain more qualitative results than traditional blending tools allow.
The Laplacian Blending lets differently mix different parts of source images. Parts with low-frequently details will be mixed strongly, parts with high-frequently details be mixed less. As result two images are looked as interwoven and mutual permeated each to each.
The Laplacian Blending method is very helpful for accurately mixing images contains so natural objects like grass, hairs, bushes, human faces and etc.
The Laplacian Blending is known method and it can be found in special math libraries. But for Photoshop users this method was not available previously. AlphaPlugins introduces a new absolutely freely plug-in what makes the amazing Laplacian Blending math available and for Photoshop users to.
|Unique, convenient and powerful tool for Laplacian blending of two images|| |
| ||Can organically work in multilayer Photoshop's composition|
|Support native Photoshop image modes such as Grayscale, RGB, CMYK|| |
| ||Modern and powerful user interface for efficient work|
|The plug-in is free.|| |
So, we supposed what you already have the plug-in installed. If not yet then please read this section.Now we want to mix two images with help of Laplacian Blend algorithm.
Choose a two image what you will blend with Laplacian Blending.
Place source images in different Photoshop's layers. You should have at last two layers in Photoshop's composition.
We will mix a selected layer and one underlie. Also, we should have a selected area. It will be used as a border mask for Laplacian blending.
When you prepared two images in different layers and a selection mask then go to Photohsop's menu Filter->AlphaPlugins->AlphaPlugins Laplacian Blend.
You will see the follow plug-ins dialog window.
You can resize the plug-ins window as needed. Resizing the window also resizes the preview area. You can increase or decrease preview scale by pressing:
To change the area shown in the preview pane, look at the small picture in upper left, and move the small square to a different area on the image. Or just drag the preview area with holding left mouse button
- or buttons below the preview pane
- Ctrl (Cmd on Mac) "+" and "-" keys
- Ctrl (Cmd) + "0" or "1" keys
Under the navigation area there are few plug-ins controls. With them help you can adjust parameters of Laplacian blending.
When you will finish to adjust plug-in's parameters then just press OK button to apply the plug-in on source composition.
The plug-in has a small number of parameters and it will be easily to describe these here.
| ||Underlie layer for blending - in this menu you can choose an underlie layer what will be used in Laplacian blending. The Photoshop composition may contain more than two layers.|
Number of levels in Laplacian pyramid - the number of levels in Laplacian pyramid. Different levels of Laplacian pyramid will be mixed with different blur value.
Gaussian blur value - the Gaussian blur aperture width.
Fill Alpha channel - you can fill the Alpha channel of upper layer and make it opaque or leave it as is.
If you look at sliders when you can notice what some sliders have blue color and some black. The difference is what sliders with blue color allow to setup range of adjustable value. It needs just click the right mouse button on the slider to launch a range setup dialog.
